Privacy Policy

CareerTree (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a career mapping platform operated as a sole proprietorship. Our contact email is team@careertree.net.

When you join our waitlist we collect your first name, last name, and email address. We also collect your self-reported career stage (student, professional, or international student). We assign you a permanent Early Access ID (e.g. EA0001) at the time of signup.

We automatically collect your IP address solely for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store it beyond 24 hours.

We process your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you check the consent box and submit the waitlist form. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing team@careertree.net.

For users in California, we do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

We use your data exclusively to:

• Send you a one-time waitlist confirmation email
• Notify you when CareerTree launches (one email)
• Send you your Early Access ID and onboarding instructions when the product is ready

We will not send marketing newsletters, partner promotions, or any other unsolicited communications.

We retain your waitlist data for 24 months from April 24, 2026 (the waitlist open date), or until you request deletion — whichever comes first. After that period your record is permanently deleted unless you have activated a full account.

We use the following sub-processors to operate the service:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Privacy Policy · Data Processing Agreement

• Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions. Privacy Policy

Each processor is contractually bound to process your data only as instructed by us and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Our processors may transfer and store data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

CareerTree is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us at team@careertree.net and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior processing
• Opt out of sale — we do not sell data; no action required

To exercise any right, email team@careertree.net. We will respond within 30 days.

EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

We use no tracking or advertising cookies. A session cookie may be set solely to maintain your login state once the product launches.

If we make material changes, we will notify you by email before they take effect. The “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
